I hate to be right, but...

I was having a very interesting talk with Kumar this afternoon and i just have to post it here.
You see, number 1, i was exhilarated that the conversation had nothing to do with the nether regions nor copulation because it seems that i noticed a trend which is so strong that i can plot a linear equation graph based on the conversations that Kumar is in, it is always abt SEX or hell-period.
So anyway, i was happy we were having a more intellectual conversation at that moment.
Number 2, i wanted so much to prove that i was right about the topic.

Okay, we were talking about my previous post about the ancient aliens and all and for some reason we digress into indian mythology.
So i mentioned that Shiva the destroyer was a goddess instead of a god.
Being the closet hindu that he is (cause he would rather die than admit it but i know he is)he immediately told me that Shiva is a man and not a lady and that i was wrong.
Well, i am wrong.
After wiki-ing, I found out that Shiva is in fact a man.
But somewhere along his life, he kinda combined bodies with his wife to become this half man and half woman.
Like literally half, symetrical bilaterally.
Like that.


So, you cant blame me for mistaking Shiva as a woman.
I swear i saw the word goddess in my history textbook when i was in Sec 1 if my memory didnt fail me.
It was this statue, i remember which was in the book.

Well, to add on the other two of the ppgs were not helping cause they insited that Shiva is a male as well.
So what do you do?
You ask!!
I stopped random ppl walking by our table in the canteen and ask them if they think that Shiva is a man or a woman.
We got the whole lot. Some said man and some said woman.

My stand is it doesnt even matter if people know that Shiva is a God or Goddess for the matter.
The fact is that the name Shiva shounds feminine on its own.
Even without an prior knowledge, i am sure there will be people who would think that the bearer of that name is a female.

Any name ending with a -va sounds feminine.
But sadly the english teacher (Sarah Jeanetix) disagreed
She said that -va is a very strong sound and hence makes the name musculine.

ABless the heavens that i finally get a 4 day week this sem and icing on the cake is that my free day is a friday which allows me to have a well rested weekend before i commence with the start of the week again.

So i usually spend my fridays catching up on sleep, some or very little work and television of course.
It was around 4ish and there were no interesting programmes to watch so i kinda explored the different channels a little
What caught my eye was this show called "Acient Aliens" on The History Channel and so i decided to watch it since it was starting soon.
However, it was only a few minutes into the show that i realised that i have stumbled upon another amazing documentary thati just have to share with everyone.

The main theory that is proposed in the show is that alien astronauts from a long time ago, came to earth and helped man kind progressed with technology they bring from their highly advanced universe.
I know this may sound like hog wash and pretty unbelivable and trust me, the cynic in me was turned on 100% the moment i saw the word aliens
However, evidences that was shown to me in this show was simply too good to deny and right now, i kinda buy the whole alien astronaunt thing.

There are simply too many things that cannot be explained on Earth
From strange phenomenons to the ingenuity of man
I find these all very amazing and intriguing at the same time
Once again, my search for the next amazing documentary continues.

Here are some bites out of the doc to get you started:

1. Nazca desert lines
The Nazca Lines are a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert in southern Peru created btw 400 to 650 BC
These lines are found on mountain plataues and resemble airplane landing strips
Other than this, there are many figures made which resembles hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks, orcas, llamas, and lizards.



These ancient giangantic drawings are very huge and span across many kilometers per drawing and hence can only be seen if you are flying across the sky.
The question is, why were these drawings created if no one could fly at that point in time?

2. The egyptian lightbulb
When the acient egyptians built the pyramid, many heiroglyps and pictures decorated the walls of the pyramid.
In the great pyramid of giza lies a highly guarded chamber which is only open to the high priest.
The conditions inside these chambers are dark and very poorly ventilated.
This means that for someone of that time period to walk in those chambers, they would need a light source which is probably in the form of a fire torch.
However, the amount of oxygen is so low deep withini the secret chambers, it its impossible to suport a flame at all.
How then did the acient egyptians walk through those pitch dark chambers without a light source?

3. The Pyramid of Giza
Do you know that it took the ancient egyptians 22 years to buid the pyramid of giza.
Each brick that makes the pyramid weighs about 2.5 tonnes.
If you do the math, this would mean that it takes 9 seconds for 1 brick to be cut, transported and placed onto the pyramid.
Amazing for that time period or did they have additional help?

4. Sarcophagus of Mayan King Pacal
You know about the Mayans right?
A very smart bunch of ppl that were way ahead of their time but disappeared all of a sudden
The Mayans had a king called Pacal whom they hold in high regard.
When he died, they built a pyramid for him and on his sarcophagus they caraved a picture which was supposed to symbolise his journey to the underworld

If you look closely, it looks like a man sitting in a capsule of a space shuttle isnt it?
Theres an oxygen mask on his noese, his hands are turning something and his foot is on some sort of a paddle.
At the bottom, you see fire spounting from the space shuttle as if its taking off.
Just for comparison, this is a picture of a real astronaut in a space shuttle ready for take off

Spotted anything similar?
Btw, in recent years, the king's tomb has been seal away and closed to visitors.
I wonder why.

i felt so clueless during track class cause i cant seem to get my footing right, result in my feet getting caught in the rope cause there wasnt enough take off power.
Feeling like a loser, i decided to practice it right after track class
the miracle thats is rizal or rather coach rizal did his voodoo on me and i was able to jump my personal best of 100cm within 45min.
and not with a rope, with a pole mind you.

rizal recorded down my best jump and split the frames up for a more detailed analysis and this is what i got.

1. Survivor Redemption Island


This is number 1 on the list for a very goooooood reason. Survivor is like the queen mother of all reality shows.
I dont really know too many people who follow Survivor maybe except for Wee lin who is also an avid fan of the show since eons ago just like me.
22 seasons into the show and you'd think that people might grow tired of it already.
HEll NO! In fact, it gets more exciting
This season, when you get voted out, you dont go home and instead you go to redemption island where you can try to win your way back into the game.
How cool is that?
And whats more awesome is that Boston Rob and Russel are both back in the game.


These two great survivor talents definitely makes the game so much more exciting to watch and im am already looking forward anxiously to episode 2!
If you dont watch any on the list, at least try this one.

2. Jersey shore


I know.
Stupid show. But stupid good anyhow.
Why? Just becuase it makes me feel so smart compared to these fake new york italians.
For these bunch of people, their life is all about the GTL
Gym, Tan and Laundry.
Not to forget partying in clubs and having sex.
Soemtimes I feel like im watching a documentary about a of monkeys going about their daily routine.
You make yourself attractive (GTL) and then you attrat your mate through courtship and finally you copulate (club and sex)
Right???
I really envy their burdenless lives but most of the time i just laugh at their stupidity.
This show is a feel good show for you peole out there who need to put others down just to feel good about yourselves.

3. Keeping up with the Kardashians


Lifestyle of the rich and famous aint what we all dream of?
I enjoy this show because it is soooooooo scripted but yet the cast are kinda living in their own bubble thinking we audiences are retards or of lower thinking order.
Seriously dude, we can tell!!!
But that aside, i secretly would love to live their life.
How should i describe it accurately? Its the flossy flossy lifestlyle with fast cars, pretty clothes,lotsa money and partying.
I think the Kardashian sisters are actually quite pretty just because they are not the usual skinny minny i see on the silver screen and appear more real.
I would reccommend this show if you are into the hollywood lifestyle and need some make up drama in your boring life.
Think DUIs, sex tape leaks, eloping in las vegas, magazine shoots etc....

4. Kimora, life in the fab lane.

I LOVE this show because Kimora Lee Simmons is super hilarious.
Fashion mogual, model and mom are the different roles she has to juggle and you see how she does it on this show.
I think im a little kimora deep inside because she is an asian girl who is into fashion and glam and she married Djimon honsou!!
The guy from blood diamond.
Stil no clue?
The guy whose crotch was on the display window of Calvin Klein at citylink for a good half a year!! Hot...
Anyway, she has 3 kids and they are pretty hilarious also...
So just watch this...

5. Jon and kate plus 8


Where do i even begin??
After watching this show. I wanna have 8 kids myself!!!
The idea of having several kids growing up together is so fun.
I was kinda upset when they announced the infamous split because they would;ve been the perfect family.
Jon is korean and kate a caucasian, so you can imagine how cute the kids are.
Aside from that, they are very socialble and have different personalities which is very fun to watch.
Watch this show if you like to see kids do and say the darnest things.
Oh, and not forgeting, paranoid mother who always spoils the fun.

6. Project Runway


Turning plain old cloth into beautiful garments has always been my dream.
I spend a lot of moolahs on clothes and if i can do what these people on the show do, i would save myself a lot of buckaroos.
In fashion, one day you're in and the next day, you're out
Seeing other people's take on what looks good allows me explore how i can dress up less conservatively.

Anyway, the list never ends.
I dont know if it has happended to you.
But the person i am rooting for in the reality competition always ends up being the runner up.
ALL THE FREAKING TIME.
Be it survivor, ANTM, even freaking masterchef.
pisses the crap out of me.
So, go on and start watching some of these shows and tell me if you enjoy it just as much as i do!

I was watching this documentary called Religulous.
You probably figured its a mesh of the word religion and rediculous
Bill Maher explores why people today continue to be so faithful to their religion even though they are so much more educated than the past
He went to the churces, mosques, scientology churces and even some mormon temple(mormonism, which i got to know from this show.)

It is SUPER INTERESTIING and ENTERTAINING.

I bought the DVD of one of my favourite movie "Kingdom of Heaven" yesterday
I think i am at the point in my life where i am starting to collect movies and albums which i think are good and would like to keep as part of my collection
When i was much younger and more importantly poorer, i didnt believe in buying CDs and DVDs
For music, i'll just download it somewhere and for shows, i prefer to go to the theatres mainly for the sound and picture quality.
Back to the DVD, though I have watched the movie at least 10 times, this DVD is pretty cool as it has a bonus documentary DVD included telling you more about the historical facts vs Hollywood( what actually happened in the movie)
For 13 bucks i think it was such a good deal so i got it without thinking twice
Wanted to watch it with my family(mum and dad) but i couldnt finish it before i left the house for some gathering on new year's day
Left my parents to finish it after i left home but they told me they wanted to watch it with me another day.
When i got home, i wanted to finish the movie and the documentary only to find out that my dad had lent the DVD away.
Really??
What happended to asking?
Well, at least let me finish it watching first??

Jet lagged

So ive been back for two days now and im still jet lagged.
On the plane back, i was just having a conversation with my mum about being jet lagged.
I asked her if she would be jet lagged cause technically, we reach Singapore in the wee hours at 140am and hence the only thing we can do when we get home is to sleep.
Her reply was, nooooo.
She doesnt get jet lagged cause she barely sleep during the plane rides.
Well, my reply was an old person's body doesnt get adapted to different time zones so quickly and i bet her bottom that she would be insomnic.

But what do you know??
Here i am at 523am, typing away feeling wide awake and my mum has been sleeping for the past 6 hours.
It seems that the kettlebell workout i did 2 hours ago didnt do much to wear me down.
note to self: Google ways to treat jet lag/insomnia.
PRONTO!!

My handphone has been cranky since i got to LA and hence i am left without a working phone for now.
I hope people who tried contacting me can be patient till i get my phone fixed which is hopefully later on today.
