remember me telling you guys that ive been watching a lot of movies on my computer lately?
well, i decided to make a list of my favourite male leads cause well, im bored and i would like to know who are your faavourite male leads as well??
so feel free to comment on this post.

first of all, who doesnt like a hero?
from my list of my favourite males, i realised they all potray the character of some sort of a hero, making me all toasty in my heart
Dont judge me now, im know im the only one saying this out loud.
But dont you just wished you were the female lead in the movie sometimes??
hahah

1. Character: Edward Cullen
Movie: Twilight
Actor: Robert Pattison


Edward is a VAMPIRE
i know.. who wants a vampire for a boyfriend right?
but in twilight this bunch of vampires are not your typical cape wearing, coffin sleeping vampire
to add on, Edward is like super rich, stays in a mansion and drives a very nice sports car.
I like how he is super intriqued and portective over Bella and is always there to rescue he when she needs him- like miraculouslly appear!!
The thing is abt Edward is that he is a vampire and Bella is a human, so he is caught in this tension because he wants to drink her blood so badly but is in love with her. I just love it when a man knows how to control himself to protect someone he loves
So tell me why dont you like vampires again??

2. Character: Jack Dawson
Movie: Titanic
Actor: Leonardo De Caprio


I know! Yes, i watched Titanic
And more than once.
Jack gave up his life for Rose man.
He taught the poor little rich girl the real meaning of life and lead her out of her misery of the pretencious life she was forced to lead by her mother
Jack was very charming and also super protective over Rose. He is not rich and super poor but he enjoys his life as it is and isnt afraid of any obstacles.
I am loving his survivor spirit and how he lead Rose all the way to the top of the ship when it was about to sink. So smart.
Jack died in the end cause the plank of floating wood was two small for two people and and decided to let Rose have it instead.
How sweet?
I dunno. I just melt everytime i watch the film although its bloody long, i love how their romance just builds up on the very short trip on the ship.
Couple with Leo's good looks, Jack Dawson is on the top of the list for sure!!!

Side tracking, if you decide to watch this movie again, can you please count how many time they say each other's name? Jack and Rose.
Count it.
I dunno if its me, but i think the name calling thing kinda irritates me a little. They call each other's name in every freaking sentence.
Other than that, awesome movie.

3. Character: Achilles
Movie: Troy
Actor: Brad Pitt


Set in anciet grecian time, Achilles was know to be a very merciless warrior, killing every man that gets in his way without much trouble.
But in the movie, he actually died while trying to save Briseis the daughter of his supposed "enemy" which he was supposed to kill.
got shot in heel by an arrow.
I love this character becasue he was supposed to be the bad guy, but deep down he was actualy a good person, and he showed it by giving up his life to save the woman he loves.
That's like the epitome of sweetness
He was very suave also, as he didnt give a hoot about the king he serves. He was just a warrior at heart and hence he kills whoever he wishes to kill.
Why do all the good and cute guys have to die in the movies???

4. Character: Danny Archer
Movie: Blood Diamonds
Actor: Leonardo De Caprio


Its Leo again. I have to say he is my favourite actor of all time because of his ability to make characters come to life with so much convition.
Danny Archer is the bad guy.
He smuggles blood diamonds of Sierra Leon to amercian diamond merchants in the black market.
He finds a rare pink diamond and tries to get hold of it so that he can have a better life and get out of South Africa. He meets this american journalist who is super anti blood diamonds and is here to do a story on smuggling diamonds
Obviouslly they are at loggerheads, but in the end, he once again, sacrificed his life so that she could get her story and also helped a poor african man and his family break free from the choas of Sierra Leon.
Like Jack, Danny is super resourceful and is a great risk taker.
Super charming.
I think i just like Leonardo.
He acted really well in this movie with the South African accent and all going on. He was super convincing which is why i think he is one of the best actor of all times.

4. Character: Bailian of Ibelin
Movie: Kingdom of Heaven
Actor: Orlando Bloom


Bailian is the son of some favourite knight of the king of Jeruselem whom he died a while after acknowledging him as he took an arrow for Bailian in a fight.
Bailian was knighted by his father as soon he found himself takng over the job of his dad, being the king's right hand man.
The king's brother in law was the next in line to ascend the throne after the sickly king who was going to die of leoprosy soon.
The thing about him is that he was such a nuisance he kept wegding a war with the muslims whom the king has spent many years to maintain a peaceful relationship with in Jeruselem.
He killed the sister of Saladin who was the muslim king. And the war between the Christians and Muslims starts.
The muslim had many solidier.
Through the show you can see how Bailian prepared the city for war.
When there wasnt enough knights, he mass knighted every man in the city giving them alot of confidence.
He surrended in the end to protect the lives of his people in exchange for Jeruselem.
Saladin promised him that every christian will be safely moved out of Jeruselem.
Tale of a brave and wonderful knight. Loves.

5. Character: Sam Dawson
Movie: I am Sam
Actor: Sean Penn


Sam is a little mentally retarded, he works at Starbucks and has a daughter named Lucy Diamonds after his favourite band Beatle's song.
As lucy grows older, he found that his limitations is holding lucy back
Lucy on the other hand tries to appear not too smart infront of Sam, like reading Green eggs and ham everyday instead of a higher level Stellaluna as she knows he is "different from other dads"
The authorities soon found abt them and took Lucy away from Sam and put her in foster care.
Lucy often escapes back home just to be with Sam. The foster parents couldnt take it and wants to adopt lucy for good.
Sam found this lawyer to help him who was having her own family problems.
Together while fighting the case, Rita learns many things about true love from Sam- the last person she would think of.
What i find fascinating about Sam is that he is very simple minded, yet he makes a lot of sense all the time.
Vey touching movie about the love a father and daughter share.
Especially when the father is so simple, he just loves his daughter and people all around him for who they are.
Never judging them.
I wished more people like that exist in my world.

They are all very nice shows with alot of meaning.
Maybe except for twilight and titanic.

Roger Federer played a damn good match
broke soderling in his first service already
he continued playing damn well until this stupid retarded man from the stands jump into the court and charged toward roger federer
he was drapped in a Spanish flag and was acting like some matador and roger federer was the bull.
he waved the flag over his head and even managed to wrap the flag around roger federer.
it took security quite a while before one of them pounced on the metador.



i highly suspect he is one of nadal's man with the spanish flag and matador thing going on.

anyway, after that incident, Roger's game did dropped a little.
he was obviously shaken a little
he didnt manage to break soderling in the 2nd set, but won the tie breaker
it was soon the third set, where he served to win the championship!!

I really hope he can keep up with this level of tennis that he is playing.
Can't wait for wimbledon!!
my house would be ready by then.

finals and enamel

roger baby is in the finals yo!!
played an awesome five setter against del potro who just couldnt last through the full five sets
went to harry's at esplanade with sarah and her bee, caleb and kong sing with the intention to catch the semi finals and have some great beer
but the place was too crowded and noisy that we changed venues when the first set was being played
drove down to shaun's ginourmouns house to watch the match in the end.

del potro played great at the beginning but in the end he was just no good enough for the fed express.
the only del potro supporter for the night mr ong kong sing kept teasing me whenever roger could play his shot.
but funnily, he began to quieten down as the match proceeded.

Finals later tonight.
im so gonna bring my pom poms out!
its now or never roger!!

moving on from tennis, taiwan's itinerary is kinda done up and its sounds like great fun
i just wish i could fast forward to the day i fly right now
skipping the packing and competitions in between.
im like super lazy right now.
i wanna skip training later in the late morning, but its training for a k4 race and it'll be super irresponsible for me to bail out on 3 outer people.
so i guess im kinda stucked for now.

went light shopping and ikea for the purchasing and sourcing of final furshings that wasnt built by our contractor
i look forward to the completion of my room actually
cause its gonna be one hell of a room in jacqueline's world
complete with a huge ass 52 inch tv and platform bed with a lot of my fav colour red in it.
yay!
and i have finally chosen my wall colours after being bugged by the issue for so long.
praise the lord.
i didnt think i would ever come down to a decision at all.
so im really happy right now.

i watched tv the whole of today
first up, "the other boleyn girl" on HBO
it was a really good film actually.
It tells the story of king henry tudor and his many love affairs btw the two boleyn sisters.
through this film i actually found out that the mother of queen elizabeth I was actually executed for incest(sleeping with her brother) and treason- Anne Boleyn
After the show, i immediately went to google the boleyn family history which is pretty interesting and exciting stuff.
After the google i realised that the english royal family history is kinda screwed up and in a mess.

side tracking a little, results are finally out
GPA dropped a little
but im not really bothered by it actually
cheers to ppl who have done well based on your own efforts.
you know, taking pride in your own work is worth so much more than just getting a good grade through other means- if you know what im talking about..
and for those who havent really hit the mark, just work harder next semester
BUT PLEASE(s'il vous plait??) its the holidays now man.

and i tried taking a photo of her eye by putting the camera right in front of her face
the cashier immediately shouted over
"excuse me miss, no photography allowed!!!"
so i replied "im only taking her face!"
its totally ridiculous la.
i placed the camera right infront of her face. and the lense were like almost touching her nose.
and i think he thought i was trying to snap a photo of their apparels or something.

think im finally tired now.

sailing sorrows

i cant turn my head more than 45 dergress without experiencing excruciating pain in my neck and trapezius muscle

my day was spent at MOESSC at changi learning how to sail
i never knew sailing was that challenging until well- today.
its not really pysically demanding, but rather it challenged me technique-wise.
the first half of the lesson was pretty smooth sailing and i was so convinced that i had the "water sports genes" in my blood
learning all the basic techniqies and rigging of the boat ,I must say i got the geez of the whole lesson pretty quickly, making turns and steering my boat with great success
i was told the wind speed then was abt 3 knots

it was after lunch that the wind speed took this exponential increas to, i dunno? 100knots? It was like freaking tsunami and i kept capsizing and also getting hit by the boom of the sail boat.
in my whole 8 years of canoeing i have never capzised more than what i did on a sail boat on this single day.
It was that bad yeah.
Speaking of the boom, for non sailing people, you must be wondering what the heck is a boom right?
just to get things straight first, YES! it hurts as bad as its name sounds like
well, a boom is a horizontal pole that holds your sail to the mast. It can swivle around the mast for you to catch the wind in different direction.
You must have seen sailors on TV shifting their seats to avoid this swinging thing right???

there was this one incident the wind was so strong and it caugth my boat parallel to the sail. That sent the boom freaking swing at my head knocking me off the boat.
I seriouslly thought i was gonna die then, but thankfully im still here.

and another incident was what i call the "viking ship"
beacuase the wind would catch my sail of forcefully that my sail almost touches the water and me, while sitting on my seat, will be sent perpendicularly up into the air like you're sitting on a viking ship ride at the amusement park.

not when you drop into the water from that height and land on the mast of your boat
its damn painful

so that concludes the end of my sailing experience cause i'm too badly beaten up to attend the next lesson.

i feel so empty anymoment im not kept occupied and feel like i should be studying or something if not i'll get into trouble
i say.. i'll give it another 2 days

managed to get a bag pack and all sundry for camping from the the pro-ncc mr cho(i know you will be reading this)
went back to damai and im very surprized to find familiar faces and occurances
like miss Shawa my sec2 form/english teacher. The detention room-not that i have been in there or anything, students getting punished by sitting outside the GO-that i admit wholeheartedly
made me all exicted and amused at the same time

training starts tmr morning and im still wide awake right now

3 papers in a row, starting with Microbiology on monday, Current genetics on tuesday and biomechanics on wednesday
and AMERICAN IDOL on wenesday as well
the last one on the agenda is all that matters actually

i think im awfully unprepared for my papers.
not that i didnt study but because my papers are scheduled in a way where i cant do a thorough revision of all my subjects to my expectations
well tried my best, lets see how it goes.

looking forward to the end of the exams as it will mean my 3 and a half months long vacation is finally here
schedule for the holidays are already starting to be filled up with camps, sailing and windsurfing courses BIRTHDAY, moving house and maybe a short vacation overseas

but first i have to pull through this damn exam which means i have to go and study now

1. Stay still and try to reduce my surface area by tucking my hands in.
2. Walk faster and pass them as fast as possible
3. Take a detour and get out of their proximity

i was just talking to yanner abt them two days ago when we were abt to go to bed after a long hard day of hardcore mugging.
We were just wondering what is it about them that makes us detest them so much.

and we came to a conclusion.
its THEM!

for people that share the same ancestral lineage as us, i seriouslly dunno what went wrong in the making of the ah tiongs.
they are just so crude, dirty, loud and dress just oh so badly- this is just to name a few.
i refer you to yan yan's for their horrible dress sense.
anyway, you can argue that dress sense is subective and who am i to judge you based on how you dress.
how about the even the way the children act?
just a couple of days ago, when me and yanner headed out to JP for a nice well deserved dinner, some ah tiong kid was trying to pull out the mirror on the upper deck of a bus- the one where the driver uses to look at the upper deck from his seat?
and he is barely 5!!
on top of that, he and his even younger brother were screaming at the top of their voices in those ah tiong-ish chinese that is totally irksome.
im sure you know that familiar accent.

as a hall stayer, i have not once used the microwave in the pantry as there is this rumour that one ah tiong dried her undies in the freaking microwave!
urgh!!
anyway, you must wonder why the sudden hate post about them right??

Idol fever

just a min off the books
it's been 6 days of hard core studying and i feel totally drained already
glued to the chair in my room for more than 12 hours aint no joke at all

anyway. i wonder if you people have been following this season of Idol cause i certaintly have
every wednesday night i will be headed to the tv lounge with my idol buddies sarah and melati to cheer our fav idols on
personally, i feel this batch of idol hopefuls are all seriouslly talented hence explaining why im so addicted to the show

Three of my favourites are definitely:
1. Danny Gokey
2. Adam Lambert
3. Matt Giraud

Danny is this soulful sort of singer that puts alot of energy into his singing and never fails to make you wanna get your groove on and dance to his songs. Kinda like those afro american church service when they sing their hymns.

Adam is like the performer. He's from braodway and hence he adds the element of visual pleasure when you watch him perform. Sarah told me he actually sang Bohemian Raphsody by Queen for his audition. Can u even sing that song??? On top of sounding good, he looks good also. Two big ticks.

Matt sounds very jason mrazy, which is very appealing to me cause its very easy on the ears and i love how he can sound very good with just a simple keyboard or guitar. Laidback and easy.

So who's gonna win????
I dont wanna predict too early in the competition, but you can check out these few songs that are sung by them.
Idol is good for me cause it has exposed me to alot more songs other than the pop gendre which i hear too much of and somehow i think they are getting quite crappy.
and for those who have no idea the latest season of idol has began, please please, switch on your tv on wednesdays night 10pm from now on.
these talented guys are just not to be missed

i got into the finals for my k1 clocking a surprizing timing of overall 2nd, even with months of not touching and seeing water.
so im quite motivated to train hard now, but after exams though
anyway, the organizers were so messed up that kai yan and i missed out k2 race.
i felt kinda bad cause she didnt managed to get into the k1 finals and i promised we'll get into the k2 finals and win something.
but we didnt even managed to race. so yeah
as an act of rebellion, i missed my k1 finals on sunday morning
i wont say it was the smartest thing to do, cause my captains were not really glad that i didnt wanna race.
but this race is not important to me at all, i WAS prepared to race, until that incident
not to mention, only 2 ppl made it to the finals(including me), so i was kinda bugged dwn by the lack of participation in the finals from my team.
Its NCC i guess.
i seriouslly believe that if i train real hard, i so can get my gold again
no curses.
OH! and i am the vice captain of the girl's team????
i dun think i am even qualified to lead the team
the thing is, the girls team is now made up of 4 ppl with a captain, a vice cap a quarter master and a member.
i seriouslly wonder why do we need so many ppl to lead 1 member?
im not complaining or anything.
but i am just very perplexed
i belive that the system can be twisted to fit the dynamics of the team.
haha! but hey man, i am vice captain!

pretty boring

i ve been living a damn boring week and hence i have nothing interesting to say about my life.
It's been basically eat, sleep, train. study and tv for me during this week of recess

im tryng to tie up the loose ends of my PE assignment now and panicking about Surf and Sweat that is going to take place in about 12 hours' time at Setosa
It was supposed to be a fun thing to do,
but my competitive partner, kumar is stressing me out cause he's aiming for the top 3spots

anyway, you may not believe it, but i'm hooked on this dumb ass Taiwanese drama called "they kiss again"

i still stand my ground on the claims like taiwanese actors cant act that well and the directors suck even more
but it was one day when i switched on channel 56 on cable and on came the second epi of the show, and after that episode, i was feeling a little bored
so waht the heck, i flipped open my laptop and search for it online
and the rest was history
im at a good episode 10 of 20 now, within a day. not bad huh?
the girl is stupid to the max who is married to a genius doctor
cant stand the girl esp when she pretends to stammer
like i have said, they cant act
i even heard she got the best female lead award in taiwan or smt?? huh??

i've been wanting to get on mp3 after i lost the one nicole gave me for birthday last year

I teared a little seeing Roger Federer cry on the podium in Rod Laver Arena

Not because the man is cute and successful and i feel sad for him

Imagine being at the top for so long and suddenly this Spanish Muchacho comes along and is beating you in all the matches and you just can figure out why.

I guess it you can only feel the same pain only if you've been at the top

Ive been glued to my TV since 5pm all the way till almost 10pm catching the finals of the Australian Open, screaming my lungs out

to be honest, I was really hopeful and somehow sure that Federer was gonna win this one and bring it back home, but he gave a good fight i must say.

Im just upset that a legend and true champion is tested like that

The australian open is definitely a very special event for Federer as this was where he got his No. 1 title while playing in 04 i think.

Losing at the same place must have sucked big time.

I never thought i'd say this but Roger looks really cute crying.

I really believe in opportunities and how they can mould you depending on how you react and handle the situation and i hope when i am given one, i will step up to the plate and do what i am supposed to do.

Well, the "Niu" year is gonna come in another two hours time

and ive been eating non stop since i got home from hall on friday

ive been really deprived of food in hall cause the nearest canteen has disgusting unplatetable food and i really am too lazy to walk to get food anyway.

so i always end up eating cereal, cookies or whatever i brought from home the previous week.

So whenever friday dawns, i have no quams about going hungry cause my mum has a knack for stocking up food at home and buying yummy snacks

This year, she bought heart shaped bak kwas instead of the normal coin shaped ones that my sister likes

Personally, i prefer the large square ones cause its a bigge serving and so you get more kick out of eating that huge one instead of the cute small and round ones

I guess my sister likes that one more because it's more convenient to eat

But anyway, the hear shaped bak kwas are so cute.

Never mind about my huge appetite and not getting any kick out of just eating one of those,

the cuteness of it alone is just enought to get me picking up another one and another one and another one.

i comfort myself by saying that all theses calories will be lost when i get back to the damn hall on wednesday

i havent seen him play with such conviction in a long time

but after that match, and mind you, Marat Saffin is one hardcore baller himself

Tennis is so much fun

i've been playing alot of tennis in school with Rizal and Gay, my only tennis khakis around.

Kinda sad, but i cant seem to find people who know how to play or at least try to learn

im not really gd at it too, but we can always learn together

Rizal is also currently training my strength with crazy gym workouts twice a week too

Im really glad he's there as i havent done a good kick ass gym training in a long long long long long long long long while.

i will be perspiring after every set and after the session, i cant move my body for a few days.

Its way hardcore

My strength training comprises of this total body workout called cross fit training which centers around the idea of "functional training"

it really pushes my body and mind to the extreme

i got to try this small yet potent contraption called the "kettle bell" which worked my whole body in one swinging motion.

And also, i got to do dips using Roman Rings.

Real hardcore huh??

and im starting to see improvements already.

yay!

but water fitness is still a problem for me.

probably not the fitness, its getting to training which would in turn determine my water fitness.

i am still trying to work out a plan

it sucks to train alone.

and i feel so alone.

Dear 2008

i have to say that you have given me a very fulfilling year with many challanges to overcome, happy moments and not so great ones either.

For the wonderful occassions just to name a few like:

the countless outings and baking sessions with my girls,

swimming, gyming, shopping or just plain chilling and gossiping with wee wee,

the many celebrations with besties(usually at nic's house),

festive seasons with my family,

competitions with the meridian warriors

and goofing around with my PE mates at PE college

i was so glad to have lived that moment and would never trade it for anything else

and how about the not so good moments like:

the A level results

the period awaiting the NIE intake news

WORKING AT XM

mugging for exams

the countless leg injuries i had

backing out of competitions, trials

BLOGGING SAGA

i give thanks to these moments as well cause it made me a stronger and better person who is never suere of what she wants and what she ought to do better.

i know i was not the best that i can or should be this year and hence i will take forth the lessons learnt this year and work on it in 09 and who know what to expect in the coming year.

but one thing is for sure, i know it wouldn't be a bed of roses nor do i hope for it to be a treacherous sea of fire. Hopefully i will learn just as much as i can from 09 just as i have from you.

hopefully bonds forged with whoever and whenever will no longer be broken cause as nonchalant as i may appear, i treasure friendships like gold.

but for the temporaries like wee wee and chelby, i will miss you dearly in 09 cause you won't be here with me like you have in 08.

i dunno why but 09 seems very promising but it can only be the best i make of myself

so we shall wait and see how i fair

he pointed out so many mistakes that i was making
my strokes are completely messed up right now
have some major tweaking and changes to be made to my strokes for the next few trainings
so i'll mainly be focusing on stroking and technique
but already, im feeling much stronger and faster

Dear Chelsea,

i am writing an open letter to you hopin that you will read my blog for one last time before you leave for Canada. This blog was started partly because of you and the rest of the girls because you girls kept egging me to start one and here i am 3 years on.

Please please do not forget us 3 years down the road when you're all settled in Canada because you know we'll be here missing you

the "four of us" is now down to three.

perhaps we can now call ourselves the 3 musketeers, the 3 amigoes or even the 3 blind mices.

but you know it wouldn't be the same anymore right?

i would alwasy remembr how us two especially used to laugh our lungs about the silliest things like your stupid chicken wing joint, your imitation of a thai , your stupid hokkien sentences, your father, you dog, muscle, Mr Tan and so much more

and how can we forget.

you were my study buddy all the way man

perhaps why we got sucky results

Hope you will really enjoy yourself in Canada and make many awesome and great friends like us. But please do keep in touch with us every now and then. I reckon it will be very difficult and that i will not be as familiar and comfortable with you some time later. But this is what distance does to relationships. post South East Asia Canoe Championships.
realy glad i was there to witness the whole event
racing at the international level is certaintly a whole new league even for experienced paddlers like me
it was definitely an eye opener
now that it is finally over, i am sitting at home infront of my laptop feeling a little depressed.
i am seriouslly sighing and feeling a little shitty right now i have to say.
oh man, post SEACC withdrawal sydromes.

these three days, i have witnessed some of the best and worst races i have seen
seeing random people donning the national colours makes me all tingly inside and jealous to a certain level
was chatting with miss lim and it just suddenly hit me after she told me this particular line
"you've been walking up and down right outside there door for years. why don't you just step in?"
i replied, "i don't think im good enough for them yet"
and she went on to say "do you want to bear everyone in the team before you finally agree to go for trials again?"
this hit homerun for me and realy got me thinking and thinking

but seriouslly that was what i really wanted to do for the longest period of time
after my first trials where i did race miss lim herself and SEACC trials
i was really impressed with her and saw her as the benchmark of how i am supposed to be if i even want to make it in there
but i have to say seeing the races and the level of competition these past 3 days,
i really should have been there racing my lungs out.
it always ends with the "i should have been there" isn't it?

miss lim said "your ego is really preventing you from doing alot of things"
and she bingo-ed once again
next sem is gonna be a canoe and study sem for me
i'll be jacq the robot for one sem if i can really take it
i shall try though
cause no more shoulda woulda and coulda for me
totallu sick of it
but i reckon i'll be dead beat which i am so not excited about at the same time

now its finally off my chest im feeling much better
but still a little depressed
because i can't get to see team thailand anymore
the guys in team thailand are like SUPER CUTE
especially this very fast canoeist called phoaphat
you say his name as "pau pat"
aww man i tell you
i was swooning all the time
he was the best canoeist around winning the gold in most of his events even though they got lousier boats than competitors like Vietnam and Singapore
i wished i have a picture right now

i was helping team thailand open their shed for the past 3 days

this means i'll be counting down to the new year in another country
oh.. and destination is Macau
this is obviously a shopping trip beacause young ppl have no business to be in Macau
we do not have loads of money to burn in the casino anyway
Macua just happens to be strategically located in between China and Hong Kong
so much of shoppa, so little timma
